Each Stars experience is a gastronomic feast for the senses. Wine, food, and incredible guests come together to bring the evening to life. But it is the chef who designs a menu worthy of Michelin review, paired with the rare wines of Peter Michael Winery.

Stars events have been fortunate to partner with acclaimed chefs from Daniel Boulud and Jacques Pépin to José Andrés and Thomas Keller, each preparing exquisite menus and
presenting courses artful to the eye, with enticing aromas and delicate yet, bountiful flavors. To dine with Stars is an evening to remember and certainly a culinary chef-d’œuvre.

In 2021, the Peter Michael Foundation was grateful to reunite chefs and guests under the Stars, hosting Stars Knights Valley with Chef Christopher Kostow and Stars New York with renowned Chef Daniel Boulud.

Food and wine unite guests for a good cause, raising research funds with an inspiring auction.

Peter Michael Foundation Stars Chef Highlight
Christopher Kostow

Christopher Kostow is the critically acclaimed chef of the Restaurant at Meadowood in Saint Helena, California, and the third youngest chef to ever receive three Michelin stars. Kostow draws upon his American upbringing and the singular beauty and bounty of the Napa Valley to cook food that is thoughtful, personal, and in concert with his community and collaborators.

After earning two Michelin stars at Chez TJ in Mountain View, Kostow arrived at the Restaurant at Meadowood in 2008. He has since been chosen as one of Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chefs in 2009 and holds an award from the James Beard Foundation for Best Chef: Pacific. Ten Speed Press published Christopher’s debut book, A New Napa Cuisine. In 2015, his work was awarded Book of the Year by the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP).

In 2017, Christopher and his wife Martina opened a casual restaurant in the heart of the Napa Valley, the Charter Oak, which focuses on a celebratory and family-style dining experience. Their latest endeavor, Ensue, opened in Shenzhen, China, in August of 2019. This project marks their first international restaurant and represents Christopher’s latest evolution, blending California farm-to-table culture and techniques with Cantonese tastes and ingredients.

Christopher and Martina live in Calistoga with their two daughters, Daisy and Lulu, and dog, Charlie—they will be opening a new concept in the Napa Valley this winter.
