The 2012 Peter Michael Winery Le Moulin Rouge Pinot Noir (le moo-lon roozj), French for “the red mill,” was named by Sir Peter after the famous Parisian nightclub intended for the pleasure seekers. The vineyard’s coastal soil and climate contribute a dense, yet delicate richness, and add to the wine’s complexity. The vintage’s cool temperatures exhibit a lighter, more gentle profile than typical for this vineyard.
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
Packed with intense aromas of wild strawberry, plum, violet and and red cherry, followed by notes of Earl Grey tea. The bouquet reveals red cherry, plum, graphite with clove and cinnamon in the background. Intense, yet rich and delicate, the flavors stretch to a long earthy, fruit-filled finish.
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
Aged 16 months in 100% French oak barrels from select artisan coopers
