The 2018 Peter Michael Winery Mon Plaisir Estate Chardonnay (mohn play-zeer), French for “my pleasure”, refers to the utter pleasure evoked by this super creamy, earthy wine.  Mon Plaisir is chosen from a specific parcel of our mountainside estate vineyards in Knights Valley planted entirely to the Old Wente clone.  The combination of full sun exposure and cooling marine influences produce low yields and extracted perfume for a pure classic style chardonnay.

Winemaker Tasting Notes:
The nose is very intense and fragrant revealing an explosion of fresh butter, orchard fruits, honey, white rose, jasmine with subtle notes of greengage.  The palate is rich, full-bodied and creamy with beautiful hints of fresh lemon, pear, apple, and fresh almond. A mineral character coated by ‘Pain d’épices’, crystallized Tahitian vanilla and cloves complete the mouth feel of this wine and its long finish with complementary accents reminiscent of a forest after the rain.

Aged 12 months in 100% French oak barrels from select artisan coopers
