The three distinct locations of our estate vineyards provide the ideal terroir for each variety. In the far northeastern corner of Sonoma County, the Knights Valley Ranch provides microclimates suitable for growing white and red Bordeaux varieties and Chardonnay. Atop the Sonoma Coast mountains, the Seaview Estate creates Pinot Noirs of profound character. Oakville delivers classic Cabernet. In total, these lands cover 1,200 acres (486 hectares) and only 200 acres (81 hectares) are planted in vineyards.
Land Stewardship
The responsibility to care for this remarkable land is the foundation of our work. Our ability to create exceptional wine is entirely dependent on our stewardship of the land that produces it.
More than half of the land has been set aside as a wildlife preserve, and the remaining acreage is planted with vineyards that are tended with carefully calibrated methods that protect waterways and wildlife, minimize modern intervention, and preserve Redwood and Oak forests.
